Scene 1: A ravine viewed from above. It is long, deep, and lush.

Scene 2: More of the ravine. This part splits into several branches heading into the distance. Where they lead is too far off to see.

Scene 3: A high aerial view, from which we can see that the ravine is just part of a sprawling, apparently endless mountain range, full of valleys, cliffs, rivers, trees, paths, dead ends.

Scene 4: A dead rat. Dusty wind is blowing. Next to the rat is a pile of bones, licked clean, and an X carved into the rock on which it lies.

Scene 5: A group of flamingos playing in a glistening natural pool. The sun is shining. There is one set of human footprints in the sand, which wander all around the scene. There is one unnatural mound of sand—the weathered remains of a sandcastle. An X is carved into a cliff face nearby.

Scene 6: A giant, steep, rocky slope being barraged by torrential rain and lightning. In the center of the shot, a rock overhang creates a dry enclave underneath it. Even from afar, the enormous X covering the entire back wall of the enclave is visible.

Scene 7: An empty cubicle. The computer is asleep. Paper spills out of cabinets and a few sheets were left out on the desk. Paper clips are arranged on the desk in the shape of an X.

Scene 8: The aftermath of a party. Balloons, confetti, half-eaten food, games, and a few pieces of clothing are scattered about. The curtains are drawn diagonally across each other, forming an X.

Scene 9: A small bedroom at dusk. A journal lays open on the desk. The shot is angled and the scene arranged such that the wrinkles on the bed, the angles of the legs of the furniture, the shadows, the belongings strewn about, or any other elements of the scene together form a clear X spanning the entire room.
